It's a New Year! Time for BIG TINGS!

Well, we're officially into the new year. The excitement from the holiday season is still lingering in the air, and people are still giddy from finalizing New Year's Resolutions. With that said, here's a list of Y-WISO Commitments for 09 [call them our New Year's resolutions]. There's definitely NO way we WON'T fullfill them!

1. Message in a Balloon- We're trying to make this bigger and much more organized than last year's event. Delivery was crazy last year with the rain and the wind, so for 09 pickup is the desired option. We'll have packages with even more balloons and perhaps tropical stationary to make us feel "warmer". We're also working on deals with chocolate and roses... mmm... Valentine's Day will be so much sweeter this year with our West Indian twist...

2. YWISO/YASA Cultural Show- GET EXCITED!!! It's scheduled for February 21st. We definitely want to switch things up a bit to change the momentum [but keep it going] from last year. AND... [drumroll please!!!] THE DINNER IS BACK!!!! Tickets will go on sale in February.

3. Caribbean Week- April 12-19 [tentatively] Our biggest event yet. We may have a special guest... somebody big... But, for now, things are hush hush! Just look out for more information.

And, as always, we're still continuing the monthly family dinners, game nights, and hopefully Milo and a Movie [If you have any suggestions for movies, please feel free to leave them in a comment]. AND, for those of you desiring a true bashment [like the one we threw with DSA back in October] don't you fret. We coming back to give you more!

Inhale. You smell that? That's the scent of goodness being made in our dutchpot of ideas. LOL. Don't you love the excitement new beginnings and the new year can bring? This semester will, without a doubt, be filled with familiar activities that have been revamped for better enjoyment and involvement. Inhale again. The scent's almost as good as my grandmother's pepper soup bubbling in her wood stove. Can't wait!!!
